The Minister of Agriculture visited the desalination plant in Kouklia in the morning. The plant's factory has unfortunately burned down, but the accompanying works and infrastructure are in good condition, according to Maria Panayiotou.
The Minister of Agriculture noted that she is in direct contact with the contractor planning already the next day. The contractor is already taking action, he stresses, and the state's priority is to continue uninterrupted water supply to the area and the reopening of the unit as soon as possible. For this reason, she concluded, they are adjusting the design and examining together with the contractor all possible solutions.
The readiness of the contractor as well as the commitment of the government and especially the President of the Republic, concluded to the immediate resolution of the technical problems, is an important guarantee for the next steps. Within the week there will be a better picture of the timetables, according to the agriculture minister.
