On the Paphos-Limassol motorway, heading towards Limassol, in the Petra tou Romiou area, from Thursday 12/12/2024 until Monday 16/12/2024, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, (excluding weekends), work will be carried out to clean the paved ruts on the shoulders of sections of the motorway. During the work, the left lane will be closed in sections and traffic will be diverted to the right lane. On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, in the section from the Germasogeia roundabout to the Hospital roundabout in both directions, during the period 02/12/2024-19/12/2024, between the hours of 21:00 at night and 06:00 in the morning of the next day, daily except Fridays and weekends, rainwater gutter cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, the right lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, opposite the GSP roundabout, in Nicosia, between Tuesday 10/12/2024 and Thursday 19/12/2024, daily, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 20:00 in the evening and 06:00 in the morning of the following day, horizontal road marking works will be carried out. During the works, the traffic lanes will be closed in sections, alternately, on the motorway towards Nicosia for approximately 500m. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the other traffic lanes. In the Larnaca district, on the Larnaca Airport-Ayia Napa and Larnaca-Kofinos motorways, during the period 11/11/2024-30/12/2024, excluding weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, pruning and watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions, by the Forestry Department. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 500 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected. Also, on the Larnaca Airport-Ayia Napa and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways and on the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, during the period 11/12/2024 – 17/01/2025, Monday to Friday excluding Holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, spraying work will be carried out by the Forestry Department to care for plants on the slopes of the motorways. During the works, on the motorway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout, on the Larnaca – Nicosia motorway to the Lympia exit and on the Larnaca – Kofinou motorway (from both directions) part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections. Traffic will not be affected. On the Larnaca-Paralimni motorway, from 10/12/2024 to 20/12/2024, daily, except Sundays and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the shoulders along the motorway, including the interchanges. During the works, the shoulder on the motorway will be closed in sections, 1 km at a time, from Larnaca Airport to the exit to Xylotymbou and then back to Larnaca Airport. Traffic will be carried out unhindered in the traffic lanes. Also on the Larnaca-Agia Napa motorway, from Tuesday 17/12/2024 to Thursday 19/12/2024, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, work will be carried out to re-mark the horizontal markings of the road surface on a section of the motorway, opposite the Airport roundabout in both directions. During the work, one lane of traffic will be closed in sections, alternately, for approximately 500m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the other lane. On the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout to the exit to Anglisides, on Monday 16/12/2024 and Tuesday 17/12/2024, from 08:30 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, local road repair works will be carried out. During the works, one lane in the Kofinou-Larnaca direction will be closed for a distance of approximately 300m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using appropriate signage. On the Kofinou-Larnaca motorway, from the Alethrikou exit to the Klavdia exit, on Wednesday 18/12/2024, from 08:30 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, local road repair works will be carried out. During the works, one lane in the Kofinou - Larnaca direction will be closed for a distance of approximately 300m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using appropriate signage. On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, during the period 09/09/2024 - 23/12/2024, bridge upgrade/repair works will be carried out on the Kalavasos bridge. During the works, the two lanes of the motorway within Limassol, approximately 1 km long, will be closed to traffic. Traffic will be diverted to the opposite direction, which will operate in two-way traffic. Also, the entrance to the motorway, heading towards Limassol, from the old Limassol - Nicosia road at the Zygi junction will be closed and traffic from the old road to the motorway will be diverted via the Governor's Beach junction.Also, on the Limassol Bypass Road, from the Germasogeia roundabout to the New Hospital roundabout in both directions, from Monday 02/12/2024 until Monday 16/12/2024, except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 21:00 at night and 05:00 the next morning, repair work will be carried out on energy absorption systems (crash cushion). During the work, one lane of the Bypass Road will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 300m at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In Larnaca, the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, from the height of the Oroklini Fire Station to the Oroklini Organized Beach (Kiosk), will be closed to traffic in both directions from 03/7/2024 and for seven months, as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C". During the works, traffic will be diverted via Galaxia Street in Oroklini. Drivers are urged to be careful. From Friday 19/7/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, construction works will be carried out on Akamantos Street, opposite the Church of Panagia Zalakiotissa in Pegeia. During the works, traffic to and from Pegeia will be diverted via Racherou, Sarakkou and Koliakas streets, in accordance with the on-site road markings. Only residents will be allowed to enter the intermediate work area. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous Avenue, Argyroupoleos Avenue and Section of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Ippokratous Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their intersection with Themistokleous Street to Nikaias Street and Kentavrou Street respectively. In Nicosia, on Monday 16/12/2024, Tuesday 17/12/2024 and Wednesday 18/12/2024, from 20:30 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the following day, works will be carried out to remove and resurface the existing road surface on the following roads: Monday 16/12/2024: A section of Larnaca Avenue, from its light-controlled intersection with Digeni Akrita Avenue to its light-controlled intersection with Lord Byron Street (traffic lights ‘BMH’), will be closed. Drivers coming from Aglantzia and heading towards Pallouriotissa – Kaimakli – Nicosia, should use Lord Byron & John Kennedy Streets. The same roads are proposed to be used for the exact opposite direction (from Pallouriotissa to Aglantzia). Tuesday 17/12/2024: A section of Larnaca Avenue, from its light-controlled intersection with Lordou Byronos Street (traffic lights ‘BMH’) to its intersection with Poseidonos Street, will be closed. Drivers coming from Aglantzia and heading towards Pallouriotissa – Kaimakli – Nicosia, should use Poseidonos, Aeschylou, Tombazi, Piraeus and Kallipoleos streets. Drivers heading from Pallouriotissa – Kaimakli to Aglantzia, should use either Aglantzia Avenue or Famagusta Avenue. Wednesday 18/12/2024: A section of Larnaca Avenue, from its junction with Athinas Street to its junction with Poseidonos Street, will be closed. Both drivers heading from Aglantzia to Pallouriotissa – Kaimakli – Nicosia, and drivers heading in the opposite direction, i.e. from Pallouriotissa – Kaimakli – Nicosia to Aglantzia, will have to use Kallipoleos and Famagusta streets. In any case, during the execution of the works, there will be appropriate temporary signage for the smooth flow of traffic in the various directions. In the Limassol district, on the Kato Platres-Prodromos road, from Monday 09/09/2024 to Friday 20/12/2024, from 06:30 to 16:00, daily, CFP wall lifting works will be carried out on sections of the road. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed at any time for a length of approximately 100m and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage. Also in the Limassol Municipality, on a section of the Karvounas-Kyperountas road, during the period 10/12/2024 – 20/12/2024, construction works of retaining walls will be carried out by a private Contractor Company. During the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of approximately 120m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary Traffic Lights. On the old Paphos-Limassol road, during the period 13/5/2024 – 12/5/2025 (for 12 months), construction works of stabilization measures will be carried out on a section of the road, near Petra tou Romiou (near the CTO refreshment bar in Petra tou Romiou). During the works, the section of the road being reconstructed will not be available to traffic. There will be continuous and unhindered traffic by the traffic police on both sides of the construction site. Traffic on the old Paphos - Limassol road in the direction from Paphos to Limassol will be diverted from the Petra tou Romiou exit (after Aphrodite Hills on the left) and from Limassol / Pissouri to Paphos from the Pissouri exit, on the Paphos - Limassol motorway. Also, on the old Paphos - Limassol road, in the section near Petra tou Romiou, construction work on road stabilization measures will be carried out between 17/06/2024 and 16/06/2025. Specifically, the works will be carried out to stabilize the slope and the road surface, as part of the 2nd Phase of the works being carried out on the road, following the major landslides that had occurred since 2019. During the works period, 17/06/2024-16/06/2025, a section of the old Limassol-Paphos road, near Petra tou Romiou, will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions towards Paphos and towards Limassol. The temporary signage will be the same as in the 1st Phase of Works. Specifically, the necessary signage and information will be placed on the parallel section of the Limassol-Paphos motorway, as well as on the two cut-off sections on the old Limassol-Paphos road, near the western Pissouri-Petra tou Romiou exit and near the Kouklia exit, to inform drivers intending to head towards Petra tou Romiou. In the Vasilikos area, from Thursday, February 22, 2024, fencing works are underway at the Vasilikos Energy Center, which will last until February, 2025. During the period October, 2024 – December, 2024, works will be carried out to upgrade bus stops and shelters on urban roads in the districts of Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, and Famagusta. The works include excavations on sidewalks to create foundations and then installation of new shelters at bus stops.
