Pafos Live 1 December 2024
In an effort to ensure the proper utilization of the Lemba Cultural Village, a team of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, headed by the Director General, held an open discussion on Friday with artists and stakeholders.
As stated in an announcement by the Deputy Ministry, the space, with a total area of 1,800 sq.m., is planned to function as a cultural ecosystem that will host creators from Cyprus and abroad, promoting creativity, education and cooperation. The Deputy Ministry plans to launch an open call for interest for the management of the site in March 2025.
The complex of the Cultural Village of Lemba consists of two separate spaces/buildings, the "Neighbourhood of Creation" with painting and pottery workshops, offices and library and the "Neighbourhood of Filoxenia" with rooms that can accommodate 35 people, as well as dining and sanitary areas.
Ensuring the proper utilization of this infrastructure, which was entirely financed by the state budget, falls within the Strategic Objectives of the Deputy Ministry for the development of a cultural ecosystem, where artists, students and students from Cyprus and around the world will create, train and interact with each other and with the environment. As mentioned, with proper utilization of the infrastructure, whose capabilities are multilevel, the vision of the State and Stas Paraskos, who operated the "Cyprus College of Art" in the same place, is promoted and continues effectively.
The Deputy Ministry states that a transparent procedure will be followed for the disposal of the use and management of the Lemba Cultural Village through the publication of an open call for interest, based on the Regulation of Public Procurement Procedures and Related Matters Law of 2016 (73 (I)/2016).
During the discussion, the representatives of the Deputy Ministry of Culture explained the basic parameters of the terms of reference of the call for interest that will be prepared and useful suggestions for the further development of the process were submitted by the attendees.
