Μετά από την επιτυχημένη παρουσίαση στην Λευκωσία, με μεγάλη χαρά ανακοινώνουμε την επανάληψη του προγράμματος Inspired by Tradition στην Πάφο to Σάββατο 18 Ιανουαρίου 2025, η ώρα 6μμ, στο Μαρκίδειο Θέατρο.
Το Inspired by Tradition είναι ένα ρεσιτάλ για κλαρινέτο και πιάνο το οποίο είναι βασισμένο σε έργα Κυπρίων συνθετών τα οποία είναι βασισμένα ή/και εμπνευσμένα από την Κυπριακή Παράδοση. Το ρεσιτάλ θα παρουσιάσουν οι Γιώργος Γεωργίου (κλαρινέτο) και Rami Sarieddine (πιάνο)

ΓΙΩΡΓΟΣ ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΥ κλαρινέτο
Έχοντας επευφημηθεί για τις γεμάτες ενεργητικότητα και έμπνευση ερμηνείες του, ο κλαρινετίστας Γιώργος Γεωργίου έχει ξεχωρίσει τόσο στο κλασικό όσο και στο σύγχρονο ρεπερτόριο. Έχοντας δώσει συναυλίες και ρεσιτάλ σε Ευρώπη, Μέση Ανατολή και ΗΠΑ, ο Γεωργίου έχει συνεργαστεί με διεθνούς φήμης μουσικούς και σύνολα μουσικής, μεταξύ άλλων, με τον θρυλικό τσελίστα Rohande Saram, το Κουαρτέτο Εγχόρδων Apple Hill, το Κουαρτέτο Prazak, το Κουαρτέτο Εγχόρδων Chilingirian, την Ορχήστρα Commandaria, την ορχήστρα Moscow Virtuosi (ως σολίστ), Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Κύπρου και Sofia Sinfonietta.
Το πάθος του για την εξερεύνηση νέου ρεπερτορίου για το κλαρινέτο οδήγησε τον Γεωργίου σε συνεργασίες με ορισμένους από τους σημαντικότερους Κύπριους και ξένους συνθέτες, ενώ ερμήνευσε πολλά έργα σε πρώτη παγκόσμια εκτέλεση, αρκετά από τα οποία είναι αφιερωμένα σε αυτόν. Είναι μέλος των Lyrical Noise Ensemble, Quintus Ensemble, Chronos Contemporary Music Ensemble και Patsiaoura Ensemble και κατέχει την θέση καθηγητή κλαρινέτου στη Μουσική Ακαδημία ARTE, στα Μουσικά Σχολεία Λευκωσίας και Πάφου και στο εργαστήρι τηε Συμφωνικής Ορχήστρας Νέων Κύπρου.

Το δραστήριο προφίλ του έχει προσελκύει το διεθνές ενδιαφέρον, και έγινε πρεσβευτής των Selmer Paris, Silverstein Works, Marca Reeds Gleichweit Mundstucke και Royal Global. Ο Γιώργος Γεωργίου προεδρεύει της Παγκόσμιας Ομοσπονδίας Κλαρινέτου για Κύπρο και Μέση Ανατολή, και είναι μέλος στην Επιτροπή Νέας Μουσικής της ομοσπονδίας. RAMI SARIEDDINE πιάνο
Ο Rami Sarieddine είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού τίτλου, Doctor of Musical Arts (piano performance) από το Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California στο Λός Άντζελες. Έχει επίσης φοιτήσει στο New England Conservatory της Βοστώνης και στο Royal Academy of Music στο Λονδίνο από όπου έχει αποκτήσει προπτυχιακό και µεταπτυχιακούς τίτλους.
Κατείχε την θέση του Head Piano Fellow στο Bard College Conservatory of Music στη Νέα Υόρκη όπως και θέσεις διδασκαλίας στο Λος Άντζελες, στο Άµπου Ντάµπι και στη πόλη της Νέα Υόρκης καθώς επίσης και στο Central Conservatory Prep School στο Πεκίνο. Σήµερα είναι µέλος του διδακτικού προσωπικού της Μουσικής Ακαδηµίας ARTE όπως επίσης της Berlin Opera Academy (vocal coach).
Το 2019, ίδρυσε το (duo+) Chimera µε τον επί σειρά ετών συνεργάτη, τραγουδιστή (µπάσο) Andrew Robert Munn. Μαζί παρουσιάζουν ρεσιτάλ σε διάφορες πόλεις ανά τον κόσµο, µε τις πιο πρόσφατες παραστάσεις αυτές στο Άµπου Ντάµπι, την Αθήνα, το Βερολίνο, την Λευκωσία και το Παρίσι.
Ένθερµος υποστηρικτής της µουσικής του 20ου / 21ου αιώνα, ο Rami Sarieddine έχει ερµηνεύσει νέα έργα σε πρεµιέρες συνθετών όπως ο Άντης Σκορδής, Conrad Winslow, James Primosch, Nina C. Young. Επιπλέον έχει συνεργαστεί µε συνθέτες όπως ο Mark Carlson, Libby Larsen, Steve Reich και Frederich Rzewski. Eργάστηκε ως repetiteur για την όπερα, Aργός Σίδηρος και συνεργάστηκε µε τον παγκόσµιου φήµης µπάσο, Nicholas Isherwood για την πρεµιέρα του ‘Τε…Τέλεσται’ - έργα του Άντη Σκορδή και πρόσφατα σε συνεργασία µε τους Νίκο Πίττα στο βιολί και Μιράντα Παπανεοκλεούς παρουσίασαν έργα Κύπριων συνθέτων για πίανο τρίο στη Λάρνακα και Λεµεσό.

After the successful presentation in Nicosia, we are very happy to announce the repetition of the Inspired by Tradition program in Paphos on Saturday 18 January 2025, at 6pm, at the Markideio Theatre. Inspired by Tradition is a recital for clarinet and piano which is based on works by Cypriot composers which are based on and/or inspired by the Cypriot Tradition. The recital will be presented by Giorgos Georgiou (clarinet) and Rami Sarieddine (piano).

A few words about the musicians:
GEORGE GEORGIOU clarinet
Hailed for his energetic and inspirational performances, the Cypriot clarinettist George Georgiou enjoys a career as a classical and contemporary clarinettist. He appeared in many solo concerts and recitals in Europe, Middle East and USA. He collaborated with some prominent musicians such as the legendary cellist Rohan de Saram, Prazak Quartet, Apple Hill String Quartet, Chilingirian String Quartet, the violinist Movses Pogossian and he appeared as a soloist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Sinfonietta, Commandaria Orchestra and Moscow Virtuosi.
In his research for new repertoire, George started commissioning works for clarinet and so far he collaborated with the most dominant composers from Cyprus. He premiered several works featuring the clarinet with most of them being dedicated to him. He is a member of Georgiou Georgieva DUO, Lyrical Noise Ensemble, Quintus Ensemble, Chronos Contemporary Music Ensemble, Patsiaoura Ensemble and Claritar Duo. He holds the position of clarinet professor at the ARTE Music Academy as well as the Pafos and Nicosia Music Schools.
George is a graduate from City University, London, where he studied clarinet with Julian Farrell and Joy Faral at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is also a MBA graduate from the Neapolis University Paphos, Cyprus and a member of Mensa Cyprus. His busy profile gained him an international recognition and he became a Selmer Paris Clarinet Artist, a Silverstein Ligature Artist, Marca Reeds Artist, Gleichweit Mundstucke Artist and a Royal Global Accessories Artist. He is also the Cyprus Chair and the Middle East Regional Chair of the International Clarinet Association and a member of the association’s New Music Committee. His first Digital Album with Solo Clarinet Works by Cypriot Composer was released in 2023 and two more albums are expected to be released in 2025.

RAMI SARIEDDINE piano
Born on the island of Cyprus, Rami Sarieddine went on to receive piano performance qualifications by the following institutions: the Royal Academy of Music in London (BMus, MMus, LRAM), the New England Conservatory in Boston (Graduate Diploma) and the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles (Doctor of Musical Arts) under the tutelage of Patsy Toh, Gabriel Chodos and John Perry respectively.
He has held the Head Piano Fellow position at the Bard College Conservatory of Music in New York and teaching positions in Los Angeles, New York City, Abu Dhabi as well as the Central Conservatory Prep School in Beijing. He currently serves on the faculty of ARTE Music Academy and as a vocal coach at the Berlin Opera Academy.
In 2019, he founded the duo+ and collaboration hub Chimera with long-time collaborator, bass singer Andrew Robert Munn. They presented recitals in Abu Dhabi, Athens, Berlin, Cyprus and most recently in Paris. They presented the world premieres of works composed for the duo+ by Andys Skordis and Conrad Winslow. In addition, as Juilliard Global Artists they present master classes and workshops at K-12 Nord Anglia schools across the world.
An avid advocate of music by living composers, Rami has premiered works by composers such as Andys Skordis, James Primosch, Conrad Winslow and Nina C. Young. Additionally he has worked with composers such as Mark Carlson, Libby Larsen, Steve Reich, and Frederich Rzewski. He was the repetiteur for the premiere of the opera Argos Sidiros - and collaborated with the world renowned bass, Nicholas Isherwood for the premiere of ‘TE…TELESTE’ - both works (2021) by Andys Skordis. Recently, with violinist Nikos Pittas and cellist Miranda Papaneocleous they performed works for piano trio by Cypriot composers in Larnaca and Limassol.
