Patrols, motorized and pedestrian, as well as checks, will be increased, both on the main roads and the secondary road network, as well as on commercial and busy roads, during the holiday season, the police said.
According to a relevant announcement, in order to prevent and prevent road collisions, the Police is intensifying its checks on the entire road network. The intensified checks begin Monday, December 23 and will last until January 6, 2025.
Particular emphasis will be given to those offences that are proven to be the main causes of fatal and serious road collisions such as speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to wear seat belts and safety helmets, use of a mobile phone while driving and reckless, dangerous or negligent driving.
The Police recommend special attention these days to the protection of property. It calls on the public to exercise extreme caution, especially when travelling in shopping streets, shopping malls or other crowded places.
