CYPRUS POLICE OFFICER TO VICE-CHAIR EUROPOL'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Deputy Director of the Police Cooperation Directorate, of the D.E.E. & D.A.S. Senior Lieutenant Maria Charalambous will assume the position of Vice-Chair of the EUROPOL Board of Directors for the next 18 months. Ms. Charalambous was elected to the position of Vice-Chair following a relevant vote held during the 140th meeting of the EUROPOL Board of Directors, which took place in Budapest last week. The Polish representative, Mr. Ireneusz Sienko, was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the next 18 months. During the meeting, a vote was also held to elect the Chairmen of the Board of Directors’ Working Groups for Corporate Affairs and for Information Management. The Head of the Cyprus Liaison Officers’ Office at EUROPOL, S/N 1623 George Karkas, was elected as the Chairman of the Working Group for Corporate Affairs, while the Danish Representative, Mr. Ulrik Bang, was elected as the Chairman of the Working Group for Information Management. The members of the Cyprus Police expressed their thanks to the members of the EUROPOL Board of Directors for the support and trust they showed them and stated that they will work with zeal and dedication within the framework of their new responsibilities.
