An incredible story was tried before the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca, it found three defendants guilty of causing bodily harm, illegal possession of a class A controlled drug and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

According to the Reporter, among the protagonists of the case is a mother-in-law, who set up a scheme to trap her son-in-law with drugs, after she did not approve of the bond he had with her daughter.

According to the same information, a total of four people sat in the defendant's dock, who, among other things, faced charges related to conspiracy to cause bodily harm, illegal possession of a Class A controlled drug and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, while one of them he was also facing the crime of giving false information to a police officer, but he was acquitted by an interim decision.

According to the findings of the Criminal Court, the two defendants agreed to cause harm to the 19-year-old who was in a relationship with the daughter of the third defendant, placing drugs under his vehicle, while one of them then passed "information" to a police officer that he knew. From there, the 19-year-old's vehicle was stopped by YKAN members who identified the drugs and proceeded to arrest him, after information was given against him that he was dealing drugs.

The person in charge of the case was the mother-in-law, with whose daughter the 19-year-old was having a relationship, which she did not approve of, hence she proceeded to trap him.

According to the facts of the case, the 19-year-old was stopped by the Police, heading from Larnaca to Nicosia. In the vehicle he was driving, specifically inside the right wheel fender, drugs were found, he was arrested and detained for eight days. He expressed ignorance and in a statement taken from him, he referred to a meeting he had shortly before he was stopped by the Police, with one of the defendants in Larnaca.

From this element, as stated in the decision, the whole mesh of the real dimension of the events began to unfold, since it was proven that the 19-year-old had no relationship or involvement with narcotics. On the contrary, the drugs had been placed there by another person or persons, who targeted him because he had a relationship with the accused's daughter.

As can be seen from the facts, when the 19-year-old arrived at the cafe, he was instructed to park in a specific spot, while his friend who accompanied him, although he chose to remain in the car, was instructed to get down, which he did.

After the meeting, one of the defendants notified the police by phone, telling him that the young man had drugs in his possession and was leaving for Nicosia, from where he was stopped at a certain point.

In fact, when they failed to locate the drugs, the police officer contacted the accused, with the latter sending him a photo via mobile phone and pointing out exactly where the drugs were.

According to everything recorded in the decision, the person responsible was the 19-year-old's mother-in-law, who did not accept his relationship with her daughter. Thus, he approached the sister of one of the defendants, with whom he is friendly, asking for her help.

A meeting was arranged at her house, in which the other two defendants were also present, by the mother-in-law to ask defendant one for his help, in order to succeed in separating the 19-year-old from her daughter.

Before the incident, the first defendant informed the aforementioned police officer and another, that the 19-year-old organized student parties in a club in Nicosia, where he sells cocaine, which he transports from Larnaca to Nicosia in his vehicle, giving relevant registration numbers.

The defendant admitted to three of the charges she was facing, while the criminal prosecution for three other charges was discontinued.

The defendants, after being found guilty, are expected to be sentenced, after the purchase process to mitigate their sentence is first done.
