COUNTERFEIT NOTES CIRCULATING - HOW TO SPOT THEM

Counterfeit euro banknotes worth €5, €10, €20 and €50 were found on the market by the Police, who recommend the public's attention.

In a statement, the Police inform the public that counterfeit euro banknotes have been observed in circulation, which are easily detected, since they have repeated serial numbers on their reverse.

Specifically, the serial numbers that are often identified by value are the following:

€5: ΜΒ6666888880

€ 10: ΜΒ6666888888, PA7497803159

€20: MB66688880, UC1366259581, SD2034368912, and PMI25782181

€50: MB6666888880, FG9252070821, SE1206972964, and WR6493991575

Ahead of the festive season, the public is encouraged to check in detail the euro banknotes they receive during their cash transactions.
