 Filenews 10 December 2024

It seems almost unbelievable, but citizens from at least 66 countries live in Cyprus and despite the occasional isolated problems that arise, coexistence between different ethnicities is, in general, harmonious.

Most likely, the vast majority of Cypriots do not even know that on the island there are citizens of some of these countries, although they live among us.

To the question of where these citizens come from, the answer is given by the Statistical Service which collected the data during the census conducted in 2021 and which were updated on 26/11/2024.

Non-Cypriot citizens are divided into citizens who derive their origin from European Union countries and from citizens of non-EU countries. EU citizens come from 26 countries, while non-EU citizens were born in another 40 different countries.
