The Electoral Court, sitting in Paphos, issued a few minutes ago its decision on the objection filed against the result of the elections regarding the presidency of the Pafos EDA, Costas Constantinou. The Electoral Court confirmed the election of Charalambos Pittokopitis to the presidency of the Pafos EDA, rejecting the positions submitted during his objection by his counter-candidate.
The former MP of DISY Pafos, who ran for the position of president of the new Local Government Organization along with Pambos Pittokopitis, who was eventually elected with a difference of only 38 votes, filed an objection asking for a recount of the votes, based as he says on specific evidence and testimonies based on which, as he claims, the result of the elections was not actually what was announced.
In the proceedings conducted over the past quarter, dozens of witnesses called by both sides testified.
