Projects worth €128 million in all state hospitals and public health service structures announced by the Government. The projects include, among others, upgrades to the Emergency Departments of all hospitals, the creation of new units, including a rare disease unit and a stroke management department.
A detailed list of the projects decided during today's meeting of the President of the Republic with the State Health Services Organization was given by the Government Spokesman, who said in his statements that the construction works have a timetable for completion until 2027.
In the period from 2023 to 2027, "a total of €128.6 million worth of projects will be implemented. €96.6 million of which will be paid by the state, while the remaining amount, i.e. €32 million will be funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP)."
"The priority is to upgrade the Accident and Emergency Departments in all districts. To this end, it was decided to substantially accelerate the completion and implementation of these projects. The goal is that by June 2026 all TAEP will be modernized by providing upgraded quality health services."
"We are also announcing today the creation of a high-quality Paediatric Oncology Center funded through a donation from our compatriot. The center aspires to contribute to the upgrading of hospitalization, care and treatment of children. The announcement and construction of the project will take place in the near future".

1. Extension of Nicosia General Hospital

2. New building of the Makarios Children's Hospital
· Estimated Total Expenditure : €3.3 mil.

3. Upgrading of the Limassol General Hospital
· Estimated Total Expenditure : €5.2 million
· Estimated completion date : First Half 2026
4. Upgrading and renovation of the Larnaca General Hospital
· Estimated Total Expenditure : €3.7 million
· Estimated completion date: Second Half 2025
5. Upgrading of the Emergency Department and Short-Term Hospitalization in the Emergency Departments at the General Hospital of Pafos
· Estimated Total Expenditure : €3.3 million
