14 bills that will strengthen or even change, in some cases, the current data in the field of Health have either been prepared or are in the process of being prepared by the Ministry of Health.
Presenting his Ministry's budget for the year 2025, the Minister of Health Michalis Damianos analyzed the pending issues and his plans for next year, stressing that the €1.3 billion. that he plans to spend "is not just a number, but planning for citizens' health".
Regarding the bills provided for in the general reform of the health sector, the Minister of Health referred to the institution of the Patient Ombudsman (a bill that is already in Parliament), the bill that provides for the transfer of the supervision of the control of the GHS to the Ministry of Health (which is also in Parliament, but also the bills concerning the operation of rehabilitation centers, ambulances, palliative care centers, radiology centers, medical boards and laboratories.
The Minister also referred to the bills for the establishment of university clinics, the Cyprus Food Safety Authority and the amendment of the law concerning the operation of hospitals.
