With the completion of the roundabout on Emba Avenue, at the junction with Dimitraki Adamou and Christou Kkelli streets, a pending issue on this road has been closed, but much remains to be done.
The road that starts from the area "diplaarkatzia" on the border with the municipality of Pafos to the boundaries of Emba with Tala is particularly dangerous. At the intersections that have been created, after the construction of the road, with the rural roads of land consolidation that have been paved, serious road accidents occur regularly.
Fatal road collisions have even been recorded and the new community council, according to community president Marios Metaxas, has assessed this project as an immediate priority. In communication with the traffic design body, it has been agreed to update the design made twelve years ago, without promoting the project.
MP Charalambos Pazaros, who had taken the initiative for the creation of the roundabout, said he was willing to promote the improvement of the rest of the road. He said that another roundabout will be needed in the "diplartkatzia" area, in addition to other interventions that will be made.
A definitive solution to the traffic problem of the western low area of Pafos will be given with the construction of the western bypass, a project which is also delayed.
