Next Sunday will be the start of this year's hunting season for endemic game, according to the Cyprus Federation of Hunting and Wildlife Conservation.
In a statement, the federation calls on all hunters "to pay particular attention to safety issues and to strictly observe the rules and laws governing hunting activity and are urged to refer to the official hunting charter, as well as the decrees issued by the Game Service."
Specifically, the allowed hunting days are every Sunday and Wednesday from 03/11/2024 to 22/12/2024, Friday 27/12/2024 and Sunday 29/12/2024 and daily for all species except Hare, Partridge and Frangolina from 03/11/2024 until 29/12/2024.
Please note that hunting is prohibited on Christmas Day, 25/12/2024.
It is added that hunters must show responsibility by following safety rules such as respect for foreign property, compliance with laws, the harvest limit and the use of the ARTEMIS CY application, as it is pointed out to be careful of the high temperatures expected to appear on Sunday.
"The hunting season is an opportunity to enjoy nature and actively contribute to the preservation of our natural environment," the statement concludes.
