With the aim of practical and long-term support of the cultural and artistic community of Cyprus, Thanos Hotels and Resorts, in collaboration with Travelgems, the leading Greek company in wellness trips in Europe, is hosting the Cultural Retreat – Goddesses in Greek Myth at the Almyra Hotel. This is a unique journey of exploration of the ancient Greek theanes, led by acclaimed author and broadcaster Natalie Haynes.
Participants will have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the mythology and legacy of powerful female deities through lectures, tours of mythological sites and discussions with experts.
During the 'getaway', participants will enjoy a program that includes visits to archaeological sites, discussions with Natalie Haynes, as well as interactive sessions with Maria Pigoura, offering a deeper understanding of ancient mythology. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to participate in wellness sessions and relax in the evening gatherings at the elegant Helios Lounge Bar of Almyra, overlooking the unique sunset of Paphos.
This getaway is designed for those who love mythology, history and wellness, offering a unique opportunity to combine the exploration of ancient stories with the rich cultural heritage of Cyprus, but also of Greece from where the "journey" begins, with fascinating stories and the rich history of the most iconic scenes of Greek mythology.
Your Cyprus getaway will highlight some of the island's most charming spots, such as Paphos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its ancient monuments, the House of Dionysus and the imposing Castle. More specifically, the first stop will be in the village of Lempa, where the participants will visit the Chalcolithic settlement of Lempa - Lakkos. They will then proceed to the Late Bronze Age site, the Temple of Aphrodite at Palaipafos, where they will discover the ruins of the megalithic temple of the Great Goddess of Cyprus (who later became known as Aphrodite) and the Palaipafos Museum which exhibits, among other things of finds, the Vaitylo (cult idol of the Goddess) of Palaipafos. The tour will continue to Petra tou Romiou, the mythical birthplace of the Goddess Aphrodite. With crystal clear waters and enchanting landscapes, Cyprus is the perfect setting for a trip that combines education, relaxation and personal development.
