ETAP PAPHOS IN POLAND TO PROMOTE TOURISM - 49% of Poles arriving in Cyprus stay in Paphos. The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region implementing the plan of action for 2024 participates for the Second time this year from 14 to 18 October 2024 in workshops/presentations in 3 cities in Poland (Gdansk, Warsaw, Wroclaw)
The organization in question is an initiative of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the aim of this action for ETAP Pafos, is to inform commercial partners/tourist agents regarding the promotion of Paphos as a year-round tourist destination.
The Polish market has now become a first priority market and in recent years the arrivals, due mainly to Ryanair flights to Paphos, have increased drastically. Until August 2024 Polish arrivals in Cyprus rose to over 225,000 marking an increase of 25% from the arrivals of the corresponding period in 2023. ( 180,000, 2023)
Paphos gains a significant share every year since it is estimated that approximately 49% of Poles arriving in Cyprus stay in Paphos. The air connection between Paphos and Poland is the best of the last 30 years. During the current period there are approximately 18 inbound flights per week from Ryanair, from 7 important Polish airports while for the winter season 2024-2025 approximately 16 inbound flights per week are expected. The whole effort of participating in exhibitions and workshops, hosting tourist agents and journalists, Public Relations actions and other promotional actions are included in a wider context of the joint efforts of Pafos' agencies and entrepreneurs, of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Hermes airports and others, for its further development tourism and attracting visitors on a year-round basis.
