Cyprus Mail 17 October 2024 - by Kyriacos Nicolaou

Aegean Airlines this week announced the launch of a new direct route connecting Cyprus to Rome, effective from April 2025.

According to the announcement, the new service will operate from Larnaca International Airport to Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Fiumicino) in Rome, offering three weekly flights throughout the summer season.

The flights will be scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 16:05 local time and arriving at 18:35 local time.

Moreover, the announcement noted that tickets for the new route are already available for purchase on the Aegean website, through booking systems, and at travel agencies.

In addition, the airline said that “in line with its commitment to enhancing the services it offers, Aegean recently inaugurated a new Business Lounge at Larnaca Airport in June”.

It added that the lounge spans 345 square metres and is located near the departure gates, “featuring ample natural light and unobstructed views of the runway”.

With the addition of this new route and an increase in activity across its existing services, Aegean Airlines plans to boost its capacity by 9 per cent in 2025, when compared to the previous year, providing a total of 1.25 million seats to and from Cyprus.
