YELLOW WEATHER WARNING FOR STORMS

The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning for strong storms. 

The warning will be in effect at 11:00 am until 6:00 pm on the same day. 

Strong storms will affect the highlands, interior, east and north. 

The weather forecast: 

Weak low pressure and unsettled weather conditions affect the region.

Today the weather will be partly cloudy and intermittently cloudy, while in the morning hours isolated rains may occur, mainly in coastal areas. During the midday hours and after, clouds that will develop are expected to give local rains and isolated storms, mainly in the mountains, the north and the eastern half of the island. Isolated rain may occur in the west. Hail is also expected to fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest at first light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the afternoon on the southern coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. In a storm, however, the winds can strengthen and change. The sea will be a little rough while initially in the south and east it will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 30 degrees in the interior, around 29 in the south-east and the eastern coasts, around 28 on the rest of the coasts and around 23 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, locally increased clouds will be observed, while isolated rains are expected mainly in coastal areas, without excluding the occurrence of an isolated storm. Winds will gradually become southwest to northwest light, 3 Beaufort, and locally light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough and in the east calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 18 degrees in the interior, around 20 on the coast and around 13 degrees in the higher mountains.


On Sunday, the weather will be cloudy at times, while clouds that will develop are expected to give local rains and isolated storms. On Monday, the weather will initially be cloudy at times with the possibility of isolated rains, while during the midday hours and after, clouds that will develop are expected to give local rains and isolated storms. During the two days, the effects may be temporarily intense in places, while they will weaken in the late afternoon and after.
On Tuesday, the weather will initially be mostly clear, however during the midday hours and then clouds that will develop are expected to give isolated rains, mainly in the mountains.  

The temperature until Tuesday will remain at the same levels to continue to fluctuate below the average climatic values ​​of the season.
