On the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the section from Erimi to the Bridge over Petra tou Romiou, in the period 28/5/2024 – 15/12/2024, except Fridays, weekends and holidays, between the hours 07:00 – 15:30 , plantation watering works will be carried out within the central island, by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right traffic lane in one direction of the road will be partially closed for a length of 200m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Limassol-Paphos highway, from Monday, September 9, 2024 until Thursday, September 19, 2024, (from Monday to Thursday), between the hours of 08:30 - 15:30, on sections of the highway, on a road length of 1.5 - 2 km/per day, irrigation works will be carried out periodically by the Forest Department on the central dividing islet for a total length of about 17.5 km. During the work, the right lane will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni, Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, in the period 28/8/2024 – 12/9/2024, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours 09:00 – 15:00, works will be carried out of irrigation on the central islands of the highways, by the Department of Forestry as follows: (a) in the period 28/8/2024 – 10/9/2024, on the Larnaca Airport – Paralimni motorway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout and on the Larnaca – Nicosia motorway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit for Nisos (b) in the period 2/9/2024 – 12/9/2024, on the Larnaca – Kofinou highway, starting at 400m. before the Kalos Chorio roundabout until the Kofinou exit During the works, the lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be partially closed in both directions, for approximately 1.5 km each time. On the Larnaca-Kofinou highway, in the period 02/09/2024 – 13/9/2024, daily, except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, maintenance works will be carried out on the abutments along the highway, (including of nodes). During the works, the highway, from the Kalou Chori Junction to the exit for the Nicosia – Limassol motorway and then back to the Kalou Chori Junction, will be partially closed, 1km. per time, the lean. Traffic will flow smoothly in the traffic lanes. On the Larnaca Airport-Agia Napa motorway, in the period 04/09/2024 – 30/9/2024, every day, excluding weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the abutments along the motorway (including and nodes). During the works, the exit from the highway to the Aradippou Industrial Area (Leof. Ellados), in the direction of Larnaca airport will remain closed and traffic will be diverted from the next Aradippou exit using appropriate signage. On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the period 09/09/2024 – 23/12/2024, on the Kalavasos bridge, bridge upgrade/repair works will be carried out. During the works, the two lanes of the highway towards Limassol, approximately 1 km long, will be closed to traffic. Traffic will be diverted to oncoming traffic, which will operate in two-way traffic. Also, the entrance to the highway, in the direction of Limassol, from the old Limassol-Nicosia road at the Zygio junction will be closed and the traffic from the old road to the highway will be channelled through the Aktis tou Kivernitis junction. Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from the height of the Latsion Weighing Station to the height of the Alikos River, in the period 09/09/2024 – 19/09/2024, daily Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 10:00 in the evening and 05:30 in the morning of the following day, horizontal marking installation works will be carried out. The works will start in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia and then in the opposite direction. During the work, two lanes of traffic will be closed and traffic will be diverted to one lane. Oncoming traffic will not be affected. Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the section from Alhambra to Skarinos, from Monday 09/09/2024 and for a period of one month, every day except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00, there will be in both directions to Nicosia and to Limassol, works on the road foundations, for the removal and repositioning of safety parapets. During the works, the road shoulder will be closed locally for a length of 300m. approximately and traffic will proceed normally. In Paphos, from the terminal roundabout of the Limassol-Paphos highway to Konia, on Monday 09/09/2024, between the hours of 21:00 in the evening and 05:30 in the morning of the following day, works will be carried out on Achepans Street as and in a section of Archbishop Makarios Avenue III, for road surface repair. During the works, Achepans Street will be closed (in both directions). Entry will be allowed from Aristoteli Savva Street, only for those traveling to the hospital and for residents of the area. Traffic will be channelled through Tassos Papadopoulos and Demokratia Avenues to the terminal roundabout and then through the highway (for a distance of approximately 1km) to the Geroskipou exit towards Konya. A section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue will also be closed, from the terminal roundabout of the highway to the entrance of the Konion community. Traffic to and from the affected communities (Konia, Marathousta, Episkopi, etc.) will be routed through the community of Konia and the Paphos - Limassol highway. During the works, appropriate temporary signage will be in place to direct traffic to minimize any inconvenience. In Strovolos, on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, the section from the light-controlled junction with Konstantipoleos Avenue to the Tseri roundabout will be closed on Thursday 09/05/2024 and Monday 09/09/2024, from 21:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the following day, due to removal and resurfacing of the existing road surface. During the works, there will be appropriate temporary markings to channel the traffic towards Tseri via Konstantinoupoleos Avenue. Oncoming traffic will not be affected. Also in Strovolos, part of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue in the direction from Tseri Roundabout to Strovolos Avenue Roundabout, on Tuesday 10/9/2024, from 21:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the following day, is closed due to removal and resurfacing of the existing road surface. During the works, there will be appropriate temporary signage to channel the traffic towards Strovolos and Lakatamia via Agios Stylianos Street. Oncoming traffic will not be affected. In Larnaca, the Larnaca-Dekelia beach road, from the height of the Oroklini Fire Station to the Organized Oroklini Beach (Pavilion), will be closed to traffic in both directions from 03/7/2024 and for seven months, at framework of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C" Project. During the works, traffic will be diverted via Galaxia Street in Oroklini. Drivers are urged to use caution. Traffic from and to Meneo - Pervolion beach - Pervolion lighthouse will be routed through Nikos Belogiannis, Irini & Filias and Archbishop Makarios III streets.
Also, due to works on the road Menu - Pervolion beach (cypress road), which will be carried out from July 18, 2024 until September 12, 2024, the section of the road from the junction with Nikou Belogianni Street, to the point of the kiosk "To Perasma » is temporarily closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic from and to Meneo - Pervolion beach - Pervolion lighthouse will be conducted via Nikos Belogiannis, Irini & Filias and Arch. Makariou 3 streets.
In the province of Limassol, on the Episkopi-Mandria road, in the period 26/08/2024 – 13/09/2024, construction works of retaining walls will be carried out, on a part of the road beyond the village of Souni. During the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 150m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary Traffic Lights.
From Friday 19/7/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, work will be carried out on the construction of a roundabout, on Akamandos Street in front of the Church of Panagia Zalakiotissa in Pegeia. During the execution of the works, traffic to and from Peyia will be routed through Raheros, Sarakkos and Koliakas streets, according to the on-site road markings. Only residents will be allowed to enter the intermediate work area.
In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, in the framework of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively.
In Paphos, from Monday 08/04/2024 until Tuesday 08/10/2024, roundabout construction works will be carried out at the intersection of Loforou Empas with Christou Kkelis and Dimitraki Adamou streets. During the works, traffic on Empas Avenue will be controlled by temporary lights.
In Troodos, on the Karvounas-Troodos road, in the period 02/09/2024 – 25/10/2024, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:30, daily, except weekends, construction works of retaining walls and widening will be carried out, in a section of the street. During the works, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights.
In the district of Limassol, on Kato Platron-Prodromou road, in the period from Monday 09/09/2024 to Friday 20/12/2024, from 06:30 to 16:00, daily, CFP wall lifting works will be carried out in parts of the road. During the works, one traffic lane will be partially closed at any time for a length of 100m. approximately and the traffic will be alternately managed with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signalling.
On the old Paphos-Limassol road, in the period 13/5/2024 – 12/5/2025 (for 12 months), construction work will be carried out to stabilize part of the road, despite Petra tou Romiou (near the KOT refreshment center in Petra tou Rumiou). During the works the part of the road being reconstructed will not be available to traffic. There will be continuous and uninterrupted traffic movement on both sides of the construction site boundaries. Traffic on the old Paphos - Limassol road heading from Paphos to Limassol will be diverted from the Petra tou Romiou exit (after Aphrodite Hills on the left) and from Limassol / Pissouri to Paphos from the Pissouri exit on the Paphos - Limassol highway.
Also, on the old Paphos-Limassol road, in the section past Petra tou Romiou, in the period between 17/06/2024 and 16/06/2025, road stabilization works will be carried out. In particular, the works will be carried out to stabilize the slope and the floor of the roadway, as part of the 2nd Phase of the works carried out on the road, after the large landslides that had occurred since 2019. During the period of the works, 17/06/ 2024-16/06/2025, part of the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite Petra tou Romiou, will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions to Paphos and Limassol. the temporary signaling will be the same as it was done in the 1st Phase of Works. In particular, the necessary signaling and information will be placed on the parallel section of the Limassol-Paphos highway, as well as on the two cut-off sections on the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite the Pissouri-Petra tou Romio west exit and by the Kouklion exit, for information of drivers intending to head towards Petra tou Romiou.
In the Vassilikos area, from Thursday, February 22, 2024, fencing installation works are being carried out at the Vassilikos Energy Center, which will last until February, 2025.
