EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK - 16-22 SEPTEMBER
The Cyprus Police is participating again this year in the road safety program "ROADPOL SAFETY DAYS 2024", of the European Police Traffic Network - Roadpol, which will be held from Monday to Sunday, September 16-22, as part of the European Mobility Week Week.
Through the specific program of Roadpol, the aim is to inform and raise public awareness in all European countries on road safety issues. The program is organized every year, with the support of the European Commission, and includes awareness and policing actions for road safety.
This year's ROADPOL SAFETY DAYS 2024 program is dedicated to tackling aggressive driving and aggressive behaviour on the road. The focus of policing and information actions will be dangerous driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, the dangerous behaviour of young drivers, as well as the organization of illegal motor racing.
The motto of the European program remains "Stay alive and save lives", with the main goal of the whole effort being to inform and raise awareness of the society as a whole, about the serious risks that aggressive driving and aggressive behaviour on the road entail.
As a member of the European Traffic Police Network - Roadpol, the Cyprus Police is actively participating this year in the ROADPOL SAFETY DAYS 2024 program, supporting the effort to reduce serious and fatal road collisions.
Along with the implementation of intensified police road checks, to deal with traffic violations, the Police, in coordination with other governmental and non-governmental organizations and agencies, has planned various informational and educational actions, which will take place during the week.
