Police are advising the public to be extra cautious about a new form of online email fraud. Through this new scam, the perpetrators aim to extort bank details and money from citizens.

Specifically, the perpetrators by sending emails containing the name and logo of credit institutions. In these messages, recipients are asked to follow a specific link to supposedly confirm their identity.

As a pretext, fraudsters report that a previous relevant notification of the banking institution has been ignored and if the "confirmation of data" is not made, the activities of the account will be suspended.

This link aims to steal usernames and passwords of bank application accounts, with the ultimate goal of financial fraud.

Therefore, the public is requested to be particularly careful when receiving such emails and not to follow such links.
