KISSONERGA BEACH - THE POOR NEIGHBOUR OF CORAL BAY

Filenews 11 August 2024 - by Dora Christodoulou

The two beaches of bathers in Kissonerga are fully upgraded this summer, resulting in the community authority enjoying a large amount of money as income from their exploitation. This may not be comparable to their 'neighbour', Coral Bay, but the money flowing into council coffers is far from negligible.

On the beaches "Potima" and "Pente Litharka", upgrading works were carried out last year and this year they were prepared in time for the public. According to the officials, significant works have been carried out to shape and improve the spaces as well as the facilities provided to bathers. Both beaches of Kissonerga are staffed with lifeguards who ensure the safety of bathers.

They have easy access and in addition to the coastal pedestrian-bicycle path which has been constructed along the coastline, the connection of the hotels of Kissonerga with the beaches of bathers is achieved. Especially the residents of Kissonerga hotels can safely visit the beaches of bathers either on foot or by bike, they stress.

The revenues from the two bathers' beaches now far exceed €200,000 each year and are an important source of revenue for Kissonerga, contributing to the implementation of the development and implementation program of the projects planned by the local authority.
