Filenews 27 August 2024
The Tax Department announces that as of September 3, 2024, the submission of an objection to the Commissioner of Taxation, pursuant to articles 51A and 52A of the Value Added Tax Law 95(I) of 2000 as amended, will be made only electronically through the Taxpayer Portal Tax For All (TFA), by selecting from the section "Services" – "Submit Objection".
As stated, a prerequisite for submitting a VAT appeal is to create an Account on the TFA Portal and link it to your Tax ID number. Please note that on the TFA website the Department has posted a User Guide and FAQs for your guidance.
At the same time, it is noted that as of December 2024, "by decision of the Commissioner of Taxation, an independent Pancyprian Complaints Examination Unit was created and operates with the aim of achieving to the greatest possible extent the fair treatment of taxpayers and transparency in our decisions".
Please note that for the purposes of the relevant upgrade, the TFA Taxpayer Portal will be down from 01/09/2024 until 03/09/2024.
