The Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, following the completion of the Special Ecological Assessment Study concerning the Airport – Tourist Area road by the river Ezousa and its submission to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, expects from the government and the new competent Minister the good news for this project as well, after the positive development with Marina.
Speaking to "F", the president of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce, George Mais, pointed out that the designer has completed the work assigned to him, while during the study the Chamber proceeded to map the area and the proposed route using drones in order to collect all the necessary data which have been submitted to the Department of Public Works.
The Special Ecological Assessment Study is now in the hands of the competent authorities of the Ministry and we hope that the leadership of the Ministry will address it as a matter of priority, so that it can be submitted to the Environmental Authority for evaluation, he said. In the context of the evaluation, all involved Departments as well as local stakeholders will be invited to express their views by the Department of Environment.
We are optimistic, said Mr. Mais, that the new study combined with the change of course will finally allow the completion of the project. We will, however, await developments and procedures envisaged for safe conclusions, he concluded.
