The project, which has been in the daily routine of discussions and contacts between Pegeia institutions for two whole decades, is now on track.

The renovation of the main avenue leading from Kato Paphos via Chlorakas and Kissonerga to the tourist area of Coral Bay is now being promoted, resulting in the first safety interventions for pedestrians and cyclists being a fact. In a second stage, the most important improvement projects will follow, which will concern the increase of road safety for motorists.

Along with the works on the coastal front, the Mayor of Akamas, Marinos Lambrou, stressed that the works in the core of the Municipality have now been completed, with the modernization of the central Michalakis Avenue Kyprianou with the great aim of increasing safety in the area.

"This is a large, two-phase project, the first of which involved a length of two kilometers at a cost of € 2.5 million, while the second amounted to five million. The cost of the first phase will be paid by the Municipality of Pegeia, while the second concerns an urban project", said Marinos Lambrou.

The improvement of the main road axis of Pegeia, according to the Mayor of Akamas, also includes modern lighting, construction of sidewalks, tree planting and underground cables.
