According to an announcement by the Office of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, around 2:30 am on Saturday the Pafos Police was called following a report about a suspicious person who was in a hotel bar in Paphos.
Members went to the specific point for examinations where the suspect was pointed out to them and then he was checked to verify his identity. As subsequently established, he is an 18-year-old man. In the possession of the 18-year-old, a large number of coins and a silver cross were found, for which he did not give satisfactory explanations for their possession. He was subsequently arrested for illegal possession of property.
The 18-year-old was questioned in writing and then released without charge due to further examinations.

The Pafos District Court yesterday imposed a 30-month prison sentence on a 28-year-old man who was found guilty in a case of illegal importation and possession of drugs with intent to supply to another person.
The 28-year-old had been arrested in connection with this case in April 2023, when the YKAN and the Department of Customs and Excise found in a parcel, which arrived at the Paphos Post Office from abroad, a quantity of cannabis with a gross weight of 540 grams.

A case of theft of a large amount of money, from the receipts of a department store, in the district of Pafos, is being investigated by the Police, who yesterday proceeded to arrest a 45-year-old woman, for the purposes of police examinations.
The case was reported to the TAE Paphos by the owner of the department store, last Thursday, August 1st. According to the complaint, after an audit of the same, as well as after an accounting audit that followed, it was found that, from the beginning of this year, until July 30, a sum of money totalling €38,831 was stolen from the receipts of the department store .
As part of the investigation of the case, on Friday afternoon, members of the Police proceeded to arrest the 45-year-old woman, pursuant to a court warrant. The 45-year-old woman was taken into custody for the purposes of police examinations.
The case is being investigated by the Paphos TAE.

A four-wheel racing machine was stolen from the area of Mamonia community on Thursday night according to a complaint by its owner to the Police.
Two persons were captured on video pushing the machine in the evening hours and moving away.
The owner of the machine is asking through PafosPress for the public's help in locating his four-wheeler. As he states, in his related post on the internet, anyone who provides information to locate the four-wheeler will receive a fee of €500. For information contact 99622286 .

Police arrested two more people, aged 16, yesterday, as part of an investigation into a number of cases of theft of money from coin machines that were committed recently, during July, at premises in the area of Protaras, in Paralimni.
The two minors were arrested at noon on Friday, pursuant to court warrants, which had been issued on the basis of evidence obtained during the investigation of cases of illegal entry into premises, damage to electronic game machines, and theft of money from coin machines of the game machines. After being questioned in writing in the presence of their guardian, as well as in the presence of legal counsel, the two minors were released on Friday afternoon, to be summoned at a later stage, before a Court.
On Friday afternoon, after also being questioned in writing in the presence of his guardian and legal counsel, another minor, 16 years old, who had been detained since last Tuesday, July 30, on the basis of a court detention order, was released, to be summoned at a later stage before a Court.
The 16-year-old had been arrested the day before, Monday, July 29, pursuant to a court warrant, following evidence that emerged against him during the investigation of seven cases of illegal entry into premises, damage to electronic game machines, and theft of money from coin machines of the game machines.
The 16-year-old's arrest was followed last Thursday, August 1, by three other arrests, also under court warrants. Another minor, 15 years old, and two 18-year-olds were arrested. After being questioned in writing, the three were also released, to be summoned to court later.
The examinations continue from the Paralimni Police Station.
Unknown assailants set fire to a 34-year-old man's vehicle around 11pm on Friday in the Germasogeia area of Limassol.
Members of the Fire Brigade rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire, as well as the Police.
Investigations revealed that the fire was set maliciously in the 34-year-old's vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot of an apartment complex and then spread to two other vehicles.
The fire completely destroyed two cars, while the third was damaged.
Police are investigating the scene.
