He was extradited by the Greek authorities for attempted murder, transferred to Cyprus and after the case was registered in the Court, the Court ordered that he be released with conditions.

The police did not take kindly to this development, since it is a serious case for which four people are accused.

This is the case of a bomb explosion in a café restaurant in Nicosia, which occurred on June 22 at 4.40 in the morning. Police are investigating an attempted murder because there were people on the premises at the time of the explosion.

A total of seven people were arrested in the case, three of whom were released without charge, while another three aged 35, 26 and 23 were brought to trial before the Assize Court and released on restrictive conditions.

The YKAN and ICF, which are investigating the case, had also issued an arrest warrant against a 35-year-old man, as well as a European arrest warrant, in connection with the offences of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted destruction of property with explosives, illegal possession of drugs, money laundering, and other offences.

The 35-year-old was located in Thessaloniki and arrested. A court procedure followed, during which the Greek judicial authorities approved the request of the Cypriot authorities to extradite the suspect to Cyprus. Members of the YKAN went to Greece and accompanied him to Cyprus, while last Sunday he was taken to the Court where he was detained for a day.

On Tuesday he was released and today he appeared before the Nicosia District Court where the case against him was registered on serious charges such as attempted murder and his detention was requested. The court followed the same tactic as with the other three defendants, releasing him after paying bail of €50,000, handing over all his travel documents, his name placed on the stop list and presenting himself every day at a police station.

Police believe the case is too serious and could be differentiated in the case of the 35-year-old, who had fled abroad and was extradited by Greek authorities. It is noted that the trial of the four defendants is set for October 11.
