The new Yellow Warning issued by the Department of Meteorology will come into effect at 11:00 am.
The warning will be in place until 5pm on Wednesday evening.
In particular, the temperature is expected to rise to 41 degrees Celsius in the interior and to 33 degrees in the higher mountains.
Seasonal low pressure and a warm air mass prevail in the area, however a relatively unstable air mass begins to temporarily affect the island.
Today, the weather in most areas of the island will be mostly clear, while at intervals, mainly on the coasts, there will be temporarily increased low clouds. During the midday hours and after, locally increased clouds that will develop, may give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains. The winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, initially weak, 3 Beaufort and gradually up to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, however in the afternoon, on the windward coasts they will blow up to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough, however in the afternoon in the south it will become rough. The temperature will rise to around 41 degrees inland, around 38 in the south, east and north coasts and around 33 degrees on the west coast and higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, while locally increased low cloud will be observed on the coasts, especially in the west and north. During the evening and morning hours, light mist or fog may form locally, especially in the southeast but also inland. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest and later locally variable, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually light, 3 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a bit rough. The temperature will drop to around 24 degrees in the interior, on the west and south-west coasts, around 25 on the rest of the coasts and around 21 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy at times, while during the midday hours and after, isolated rains and isolated storms are expected, mainly in the mountains and in the interior.
On Friday and also on Saturday, the weather in most areas of the island will be mostly clear, however, in some places there will be temporarily increased cloudiness, which in the mountains and possibly in the interior, may give isolated rain, during the midday hours and after.
On Thursday the temperature will drop, while until Saturday it will remain at the same levels, to fluctuate like this, close to the average climatic values of the season.
