The Mayor of Akamas, Marinos Lambrou and the President of the Community of Emba, Marios Metaxas, are the two vice-presidents of the Pafos EDA. They were both elected without candidates at last night's first board meeting of the newly established Agency.
Last night the seven Council committees were set up. As mentioned by the President of the Pafos EDA, Charalambos Pittokopitis, this is the Audit Committee, which is the only Committee provided for by the Legislation, as well as the Tender, Personnel, Licensing, Project Design and Implementation, Recruitment and Management Committee.
The new vice-president of the Pafos EDA, Marinos Lambrou, stressed after his election that the aim is for the new organization to be able to meet the needs and expectations of the people and pointed out that there are peculiarities in the Pafos district that need to be addressed immediately. Indicatively, he mentioned the non-existence of the Pafos Water Board.
The seven committees of the Council of the Pafos District Self-Government Organisation were established at the first official meeting of the Pafos EDA, held on Tuesday evening.
This is the Audit Committee, which is the only Committee provided by the Legislation and the Tender, Personnel, Licensing, Project Design and Implementation, Recruitment of Manpower and Management Committees.
The President of the Community of Koilis Michalis Efthymiou appointed President of the Audit Committee, Nina Garaklidou in the Tender Committee, the Licensing Committee the Mayor of Pafos Phedon Phedonos, the Planning and Implementation Committee of Technical Projects the Mayor of Akamas Marinos Lambrou, the Management Committee the President of the Pafos EDA Charalambos Pittokopitis, the Staff Committee the President of the Community of Anarita and President of the Union of Pafos Communities Michalis Nikandros and the Workers' Recruitment Committee President of the Pafos EDA Charalambos Pittokopitis.
It is noted that without any other candidates, the Mayor of the Akamas Municipality, Marinos Lambrou, and the President of the Community of Emba, Marios Metaxas, were elected vice-presidents of the Council of the District Self-Government Organization.
