With a significant delay this year, due to the well-known problems that arose during the tenders, both firefighting helicopters, which traditionally in previous years were the flagship of Cyprus' air protection against fires, arrived in Cyprus.
The two helicopters have been rented this time from Slovenia and are of type H60.
They arrived in Cyprus in the last 24 hours and landed at Paphos Airport, where they will be based for the rest of the summer season.
These days, intensive training and briefing of the crews of the two large helicopters on the data and procedures prevailing in the Republic of Cyprus is taking place and it is estimated that very soon these two aircraft will be fully ready to deal with fires.
