The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, completed this Saturday, July 27, 2024 the first cycle of the free excursion to the communities of Akamas to communicate points of interest and increase traffic.
This initiative is part of the support measures for the Akamas communities, announced by the President of the Republic of Cyprus and financially supported by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism".
The excursion took place every Saturday for the months of June-July 2024 and more than 400 people, of various nationalities and ages, have participated in it. The comments of the participants of the excursion were beyond positive and their satisfaction from the tour has exceeded all expectations.
Due to this success, the whole effort will be repeated for the months of October-December 2024 with a similar program.
The outcome of the initiative also sends a strong message to the Ministry of Transport regarding timetables and routes in various communities. The conclusion is that if departure times change, as has been suggested by ETAP, too many times, then we will see an increase in traffic to various communities with all the positive consequences. This is confirmed in 2 other cases where ETAP offered free excursions at times served by local and foreign visitors since the buses were overcrowded.
