A section of the Limassol-Nicosia motorway, between Pera Chorio Nisou and Latsia, in the direction to Nicosia, will be closed tonight, Friday, July 26, until the afternoon of Sunday, July 28, due to asphalt paving works that will be carried out for the construction of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway.
Traffic will be channelled via the motorway to Limassol, which will operate in two-way traffic, to Limassol and to Nicosia.
According to an announcement by the Department of Public Works, work on the motorway will be carried out from 8.00 pm on Friday until 3.00 pm on Sunday. During the works, all three lanes of the motorway will be closed to traffic in the direction to Nicosia, from the height of the Alikos River bridge to the height of the Latsia weighing station.
Traffic from Limassol to Nicosia will be channelled to the motorway to Limassol, which will operate bidirectionally, with one lane used by drivers heading to Nicosia and the other two lanes operating normally, for drivers heading to Limassol.
The Police recommend caution to passing drivers of vehicles, who are asked to move at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front, and comply with temporary road signs in the area of road works.
