€141 million projects are planned for the coming years that will breathe new life into the development of the Polis Chrysochous area, according to Polis Chrysochous Mayor Yiotis Papachristofis.
In statements to CNA, Papachristofi said that among them is the expansion of the port of Latchi, costing about €60 million, which is "one of the most important tourist lungs of the Municipality". He also referred to the implementation of the sewerage, at a cost of €45 million, the tourist coastal road, the third phase of Latchi, the regeneration of the nuclei of Polis and Prodromi, and the creation of an industrial area and many other projects of lower cost.
In addition, he continued, in the near future, the upgrading of the old Warehouses of the Port Authority in Latchi with their conversion into a Multipurpose Area of the Sea and Culture, the project of highlighting the archaeological sites of the Municipality and the project of shaping the courtyards of the Town Hall and the old police station will be completed, among many others.
These projects, as well as the completion of the Paphos-Polis road, will contribute, as he said, to the increase of interest from investors to create new developments with the aim of increasing the tourist flow in our region. Regarding the Paphos-Polis road, Mayor Polis Chrysochous noted that they will continue to exert pressure on the state and the competent services, as no other delay can be accepted.
At the same time, they will monitor, as he said, the timetables for the execution of the second phase of the Pafos Polis road, as well as the connection of Mesogi.
In addition to the commitment to implement the projects in progress and those that have been planned, together with his associates, Mr. Papachristofi noted that they have drawn up a series of proposals in relation to the integration of the 13 municipal districts.
Finally, he added that the total cost of the projects implemented from 2017 until today, the projects that are in progress and have been taxied and which concern only the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous amounts to €165 million.
