Between the dates 16/7/2024 – 31/7/2024, excluding weekends, between the hours 08:30 – 15:00, maintenance works will be carried out on the abutments along the Larnaca – Ayia Napa highway in both directions, including on/off connecting roads. During the execution of the works, on the highway, from Larnaca Airport to the 3rd exit to Xylofagos, the embankment will be partially closed, approximately 1 km long. Traffic will flow smoothly in the traffic lanes. On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, from Monday, 27/5/2024 and for a period of approximately 2 months, every day except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00, parapet replacement works will be carried out on the abutments of the highway and on two directions. During the works, the highway embankment will be partially closed, in a length of 200m. approximately and traffic will continue uninterrupted.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the section consisting of six traffic lanes, from Monday 08/7/2024 until Friday 19/7/2024, between the hours of 21:00 at night and 05:00 the following morning day, every day, except for the weekend, work will be carried out to replace damaged parapets on the central island of the highway. During the work, traffic will be diverted to the two left lanes of the highway. Also on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, in the section from Akti tou Kyverniti to Skarinos, on Monday 15/07/2024, from 08:00 until 05:30 the following day, waste collection operations will be carried out from the central island of the highway. During the works, the right traffic lane in the direction of Nicosia will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the left traffic lane and traffic will be managed with the mobile construction site system. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the section from Erimi to the Bridge over Petra tou Romiou, in the period 28/5/2024 – 15/12/2024, excluding Fridays, weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00: 30, plantation watering works will be carried out within the central island, by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right traffic lane in one direction of the road will be partially closed for a length of 200m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, from Monday 17 June 2024 until Friday 19 July 2024 from 08:30 am. to 3:00 p.m., forestry work will be carried out by the Forest Department on the central dividing island for a total length of approximately 17 km, on a road length of 1.5 – 2 km/per day. During the work, the right lanes will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Paphos-Limassol highway, from Wednesday 03/7/2024 until Monday 22/7/2024, during the days Monday to Thursday every week, from 08:30 to 15:30, along road 1 .5 – 2 km per day, irrigation works will be carried out by the Forest Department on the central dividing island, for a total length of approximately 17.5 km. During the works, the right lane will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, in the period 17/06/2024 – 06/09/2024, Monday to Thursday except public holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30 pruning and removal of plants will be carried out in highway slopes, from the Forestry Department. During the works, on the highway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelias roundabout (from both directions) and on the Larnaca - Kofinou Highway (from both directions), part of the highway shoulder will be closed, in sections over a length of 100 meters report. Traffic will not be affected. On the motorways of the province of Larnaca (Larnaca-Kofinou, Larnaca-Nicosia and Larnaca-Agia Napa Airport), in the period 25/6/2024 – 13/8/2024, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours 08:30 – 15:30 , pruning and watering operations will be carried out on the central islands by the Forestry Department, as follows: (a) in the period 25/6/2024 – 31/7/2024, on the Larnaca Airport – Ayia Napa motorway, from the Kalos Chorio roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and on the Larnaca – Nicosia motorway from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Nisos, and (b) in the period 8/7/2024 – 13/8/2024, on the Larnaca – Kofinou highway, starting 400m before the Kalos Chorio roundabout until the Kofinou exit During the works, one lane will be partially closed in both directions for an approx length of 1.5km at a time.On the Larnaca-Kofinou highway, in the period 01/7/2024 – 31/7/2024, from 08:30 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as the collection and removal of junk from abutments and slopes along the entire length of the highway in both directions, including junctions. During the work, the freeway shoulder will be partially closed and traffic will remain in the normal lanes without the shoulder. On the Nicosia-Larnaca highway, in the period 08/7/2024 – 08/08/2024, every day except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 09:00 – 15:00, pruning and clearing of the vegetation will be carried out by the Forestry Department of the central island, in the section from the junction with the Nicosia – Limassol highway to the Athienou junction. During the work, the right lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the left lane for approximately 1.5 kilometers in both directions. On the Larnaca-Ammochosto highway, road lighting maintenance works will be carried out as follows: · On Friday 19/7/2024, by the roundabout of Kalos Chorio, between the hours of 08:30 - 16:00, · On Monday 22/7/2024, Tuesday 23/7/2024 and Wednesday 24/7/2024 by the 1st roundabout of Xylofagos, between the hours of 08:30 - 16:00. During the works, the left lane or the shoulder of the road will be closed for a length of 50 - 150m. accordingly, traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, in the framework of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. Also in Lakatamia, from Wednesday 03/7/2024 and for a period of one month, as part of the Construction of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway, the junction of Productivity Street in the Industrial Area of Lakatamia with Tseriou Avenue will be closed. During the works, traffic to and from the Industrial Area of Lakatamia will be conducted through the light-controlled intersection of Theophilou Georgiadis Street and Tseriou Avenue. In the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Ormideia - Xylofagos Road" Project, from August 28, 2023 until July 17, 2024, work will be carried out on Anexartisias Street. The road will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street to the junction with the old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road. During the works, traffic will be diverted to an existing parallel road (old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road). The movement of vehicles and pedestrians on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. In Kiti, in the province of Larnaca, on Makariou Avenue, in the period from June 17, 2024 to July 17, 2024, the Larnaca Sewerage Council will carry out installation work on a central sewer line. During the works, the section of Makariou Avenue from its junction with Stadiou Street to its junction with Piraeus Street will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted through adjacent streets. The Larnaca-Dekelia beach road, from the height of the Oroklini Fire Station to the Organized Oroklini Beach (Periptero), will be closed to traffic in both directions from 03/7/2024 and for seven months, as part of the works construction of the "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C" Project. During the works, traffic will be diverted via Galaxia Street in Oroklini. Drivers are urged to use caution. In the wider area of Limassol and Paphos, from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, a private company will carry out works to replace obsolete signalling equipment at 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new low-consumption type (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen and during the work the photo-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service. If deemed necessary, temporary traffic lights will be installed, which may change the existing mode of operation of the traffic lights, until the end of the works. Some right-turn lanes may also be temporarily closed for safety reasons. Digeni-19/07/24 (Traffic Lights- Limassol) In the district of Limassol, on the road Limassol - Agro in the village of Gerasa, in the period 21/5/2024 - 31/7/2024, between the hours 07:00 - 15:30, work will be carried out to raise retaining walls and clean slopes. During the works, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights. In Paphos, Emba, from Monday 8/4/2024 until Tuesday 8/10/2024, roundabout construction works will be carried out at the intersection of Loforou Empas with Christou Kkelis and Dimitraki Adamou streets. During the works, the traffic on Empas Avenue will be carried out using temporary traffic lights. In the district of Paphos, on the road Episkopi-Mandria, in the village of Souni, during the period 10/06/2024 – 26/07/2024, construction works of retaining walls will be carried out by a private Contracting Company, on a section of the road. During the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 100m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary Traffic Lights. On the old Pafos-Limassol road, in the period 13/5/2024 – 12/5/2025 (for 12 months), construction work will be carried out to stabilize a section of the road, bye Petra tou Romiou (near the KOT refreshment center in Petra tou Romiou). During the works the part of the road being reconstructed will not be available to traffic. There will be continuous and uninterrupted traffic movement on both sides of the construction site boundaries. Traffic on the old Paphos - Limassol road (B6) heading from Paphos to Limassol will be diverted from the Petra tou Romiou exit (after Aphrodite Hills on the left) and from Limassol / Pissouri to Paphos from the Pissouri exit on the Paphos highway – Limassol (A6). Also, on the old Pafos-Limassol road, in the section past Petra tou Romiou, in the period between 17/06/2024 and 16/06/2025, road stabilization works will be carried out. In particular, the works will be carried out to stabilize the slope and the floor of the roadway, as part of the 2nd Phase of the works carried out on the road, after the large landslides that had occurred since 2019. During the period of the works, 17/06/ 2024 – 16/06/2025, part of the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite Petra tou Romiou, will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions to Paphos and to Limassol. the temporary signalling will be the same as it was done in the 1st Phase of Works. In particular, the necessary signalling and information will be placed on the parallel section of the Limassol-Paphos highway, as well as on the two cut-off sections on the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite the Pissouri-Petra tou Romio west exit and despite the Kouklion exit, for information of drivers intending to head towards Petra tou Romiou. In the Vassilikos area, from Thursday, February 22, 2024, fencing installation works are being carried out at the Vassilikos Energy Center, which will last until February, 2025.
