PAPHOS VIRTUAL MARATHON - POLITICAL INTEGRITY PROJECTS LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE!
EUHeyday project proudly presents a Virtual Marathon, an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing the promotion and impact of projects supported by the Policy of Continuity in Paphos, and specifically by the European Fund for Regional Development.
Through the DiGiNN project, co-financed by the European Commission and the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus, a designated route has been visualized, with 10 selected points in the city of Paphos, highlighting the transformational initiatives implemented in various important points of the city.
The purpose of this initiative is to promote the positive impact of the European Union on our lives, highlighting its contribution to local development and the cultural heritage of the region. The virtual tour offers participants the opportunity to explore points of interest in an interactive and engaging way, regardless of their location.
Furthermore, the Virtual Marathon is designed to be inclusive, allowing people with different abilities and interests to participate and enjoy the experience.
360 Virtual Route
The 3-kilometer route with 10 designated information points offers a 360-degree virtual reality. This experience allows users to navigate the route virtually, interacting with each information point to access the relevant information.
1/ Upgrading and Unification of Public Roads at the Traditional Shopping Center and Kennedy Square Highlight
Area redevelopment with demolition, earthworks, utility services upgrade, flood water management technical works, lighting, paving, landscaping/planting, irrigation and asphalt paving. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
2/ Restoration and Utilization of Ibrahim's Hania
The building complex has been restored and now functions as a venue for events, commercial activities and guest houses, as well as a Municipal Gallery. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
3/ Renovation, Reconstruction, and Improvement of Sites in the Muttalos Neighborhood
Creating a pedestrian path, greenery lane, infopoints, rest areas, gazebos, and wooden platforms for walks and events. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
4/ Old Electric
Renovated electricity station that serves as a Multipurpose Culture Venue, hosting various actions and events. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
5/ Connection & Emergence of October 28, Kostis Palamas & Dionysios Solomou
Unification and promotion of the public urban space around the public garden of Paphos, limiting car traffic and creating spaces for outdoor activities. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
6 / Restoration of the Building of the former "Atticon" Cinema
Renovation and conversion of the old cinema into a multi-purpose cultural and conference infrastructure, as well as the creation of a summer cinema. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
7/ Upgrade and Emergence of the Markidios Municipal Theater
New theater with modern equipment, with a capacity of 410 people, that meets the needs of both the audience and the performances. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
8/ Rehabilitation, Exorcism and Upgrading of the Municipal Market
Area upgrade with new benches, metal scaffolding, flower beds, benches and landscaped areas. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
9/ Improvement of the Administration Square
Redesigning of the square with simple architectural vocabulary, offering the possibility for cultural events. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
10/ Creation of 3 new bus stops, 197 "smart" stops and 30 public health areas
Creation of new modern bus stations, smart bus stops and public hygiene areas in Pafos and Geroskipou. The project is co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
