ORANGE WEATHER WARNING TODAY

Today, the weather will be particularly warm but mostly clear in most areas of the island.

The temperature will rise to around 43 degrees in the interior, around 34 on the western coasts, around 38 on the rest of the coasts and around 32 degrees in the higher mountains.

It is recalled that the Meteorological Service has issued an Orange warning for extremely high temperatures for today Saturday (20/7), while a Yellow warning is in effect until 9:00 am.

The orange warning is in effect from 11am until 5pm on the same day.

Seasonal low pressure and warm air mass affect the region.

Today, the weather will be particularly warm but mostly clear in most areas of the island. Locally increased low cloudiness will be observed from time to time, especially on the western coasts, while during the midday hours and after, clouds that will develop in the mountains are expected to give isolated rains.

Winds will initially blow northeast to southeast and to the west southwest, weak, 3 Beaufort, to become progressively by the afternoon mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and temporarily to the south to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort.

The sea will initially be calm to a little rough, but will gradually become generally a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 43 degrees in the interior, around 34 on the western coasts, around 38 on the rest of the coasts and around 32 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, however there will be locally increased low clouds on the coasts. During the morning hours, it is not excluded that a thin mist or fog will form in places, especially in the southeast. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest and later locally to northeast, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually light, 3 Beaufort.

The sea will gradually become calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 27 degrees inland, around 26 in the south, north and east coasts, around 25 on the west coast and around 22 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the weather will be mostly clear, although in the mountains, locally increased clouds that will develop during the midday hours and after, it is not excluded that they will give isolated rain.  

The temperature on Sunday will remain at the same levels, which are well above the seasonal values, but gradually until Tuesday, it is expected to drop slightly, but to continue to fluctuate above the average climatic values.
