EAC - ILLEGAL ADVERTISING ON EAC POLES AND LIGHTING COLUMNS

 Filenews 18 July 2024

Recently, there has been an increase in the phenomenon of third parties hanging advertising signs on EAC wooden poles and metal street lighting columns. Apart from the visual pollution caused, various problems arise, including safety issues, as signs interfere with the work of EAC staff. Also, there is a question of the safety of the persons who install them since they intervene in electric piles without the permission of the Authority.

As a result of the above, EAC removes billboards from piles as part of the maintenance works of the overhead network. The owners of the signs are requested to collect them in time.

It is clarified that the Authority does not grant licenses for the posting of advertising signs in its network and therefore their placement on the poles, apart from the risks it poses, constitutes an illegal interference with its property.
