The Police – YKAN and the Department of Customs and Excise of Cyprus proceeded with the seizure of a new large quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of approximately 15.6 kg, in the context of their cooperation and actions to combat drug import and trafficking offences.
The large quantity of drugs was found after checking the luggage of a 30-year-old man, who arrived at Larnaka airport at noon today, on a flight from abroad.
The 30-year-old has been arrested, with police investigating a case of drug importation and trafficking.

Members of the Paphos police cut off the young man's vehicle last night for inspection. Burglary tools were found inside the vehicle and it is being examined whether it is linked to burglaries and thefts reported recently.

60 packages of cocaine of 30 grams and an amount of 2,700 euros were found by members of YKAN, in the possession of a 39-year-old man, following a search operation today in Limassol
According to the police, there had been prior collection and evaluation of information and related monitoring.

The Paphos Police is investigating a case of a minor driving a motorcycle without a driver's license.
According to a representative of the Office of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, shortly after midnight on Saturday during traffic checks by members of the Z group in the area of Pegeia, a signal was given to a motorcycle driver to stop for a check and it was found that the driver was 17 years old with a passenger also 17 years old.
The minor was driving the motorcycle, without having a driver's license and without being covered by a safety certificate.
The minor driver and his parent were called to the local police station of Peyia in order to continue the investigation of traffic violations.
The motorcycle was impounded by the Police for temporary custody. The case is being investigated by the Pegeia police station.
