The US destroyer USS Roosevelt is chartered at Limassol port, with US Ambassador Julie Fisher welcoming it in a post on platform X.
"Welcome back to Cyprus," Julie Fisher said on Friday, adding that the ship welcomed officers and sailors of the National Guard Navy and "remains committed to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Eastern Mediterranean."
The American Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor, is chartered at DP World Limassol's terminal and is expected to depart later on Saturday.
The USS Roosevelt, which patrols the Mediterranean Sea, visited Cyprus last year, specifically the port of Larnaka.
