RED WARNING TODAY, 14 JUNE

The warning was upgraded to red by the Meteorological Service.

The warning will be in effect from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.

The maximum temperature in the interior is expected to rise to around 45 degrees and around 38 degrees in the higher mountains.

The weather forecast

A warm air mass is affecting the area, however starting tomorrow, it will gradually begin to recede.

In the atmosphere will be suspended from time to time thin dust. Today, the weather will be mainly clear but also very warm, while on the coasts, there may be temporarily increased low clouds in some places. During the midday hours and after, clouds that are likely to develop in the mountains, it is possible to give isolated short rain. The winds will initially blow northeast to southeast and locally to southwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, to gradually become by afternoon mainly southwest to northwest, of the same intensity. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 45 degrees inland, around 36 in the south, east and north coasts, around 34 on the west coast and 35 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear. Later and during the morning hours, light mist or fog is possible in places. Winds will be northwest to northeast and on the northern coast southeast, light and locally to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will remain calm to a bit rough, however later in the west it will become a bit rough. The temperature will drop to around 25 degrees in the interior and on the coasts and around 23 degrees in the higher mountains. On Saturday the weather will be mostly clear, while the wind field will be stronger. On Sunday, the weather will continue to be mostly clear.

On Monday, the weather will initially be mostly clear, but during the midday hours and after, there will be locally increased clouds, which may give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains.  The temperature until Monday will gradually drop significantly, but will remain above the average climatic values of the season.
