Possible disciplinary offenses against the former Director of the Department of Forests and the former Director of the Department of Environment are identified in the administrative investigation into the changes concerning the implementation of the project of the sustainable development plan and Akamas National Park, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Maria Panagiotou said.

In her statements after the meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Presidential Palace, Panayiotou said that she informed the House about the conclusions of the investigating officer.
She noted that the administrative investigation had been submitted to her on May 10 by the investigating officer.

According to the investigating officer, the Minister said, possible disciplinary offenses are detected in the former Director of the Department of Forests and the former Director of the Department of Environment.

"To this end, I have today asked the Council of Ministers and approved the appointment of an investigating officer to examine the possible disciplinary offences referred to in the administrative investigation and to submit its conclusions within a period of not more than sixty days."
You understand, she clarified, that due to the seriousness of the issue and the fact that as of today the investigation of possible disciplinary offenses begins, any statements that may be made regarding this issue may contaminate the process and this is something I wish to avoid.
