On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, in both directions, in the section from the Moni junction to the New Hospital junction, in the period 27/5/2024 – 28/6/2024, from 9:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, every day, except for Fridays and weekends, work will be carried out to replace safety parapets. During the works, it will be partially closed for a length of 200m. and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. Also on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, from Monday, 27/5/2024 and for a period of approximately 2 months, every day except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00, parapet replacement works will be carried out on the highway abutments and in both directions. During the works, the highway embankment will be partially closed, in a length of 200m. approximately and traffic will continue uninterrupted.
On the Limassol-Paphos highway and the Limassol bypass road, maintenance work will be carried out on the trees and bushes of the central island, by the Forestry Department, as follows: (a) In the period 29/5/2024 – 9/7/2024, between the hours 07:00 – 15:30, in the section from the exit to Kourris Dam to Petra tou Romiou, (b) On Sunday 2/6/2024, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, in the section from the uneven roundabout of Germasogeia to the uneven roundabout of Agios Athanasios, and (c) On weekends, 8 – 9/6/2024 and 15 – 16/6/2024, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, on the section of the Paphos – Limassol highway, from the exit to Agios Sylas to the uneven surface New Port roundabout. During the works, the right traffic lane will be partially closed in both directions for a length of 1500m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the section from Erimi to the Bridge over Petra tou Romiou, in the period 28/5/2024 – 15/12/2024, excluding Fridays, weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00: 30, plantation watering works will be carried out within the central island, by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right traffic lane in one direction of the road will be partially closed for a length of 200m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, from Monday 17 June 2024 until Friday 19 July 2024 from 08:30 am. to 3:00 p.m., forestry work will be carried out by the Forest Department on the central dividing island for a total length of approximately 17 km, on a road length of 1.5 – 2 km/per day. During the work, the right lanes will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the period 17/6/2024 - 20/6/2024 between the hours of 08:30-18:00, works will be carried out in the context of the construction of the new road network in the area of the new Limassol Stadium. During the works, the left traffic lane of the Limassol-Paphos highway in the direction of Limassol after the junction with the road to Erimi will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the right traffic lane. At the same time, the entrance from Erimi to the highway will be closed. On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, in the period 17/06/2024 – 06/09/2024, Monday to Thursday except public holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30 pruning and removal of plants will be carried out in highway slopes, from the Forestry Department. During the works, on the highway from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelias roundabout (from both directions) and on the Larnaca - Kofinou Highway (from both directions), part of the highway shoulder will be closed, in sections over a length of 100 meters report. Traffic will not be affected. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Department Avenues of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Hippocrates Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their junction with Themistokleous Street to Nikias Street and Kentaurou Street respectively. The Municipality of Aradippou will carry out work in the period 10/6/2024 – 10/7/2024, between the hours of 08:30 – 13:00 every day except weekends and Argias, on Eleftherias, Acropoleos, Australasia, Spyros Kyprianou and Hellas Avenues in the Larnaka District, for the maintenance and beautification of the central islands of the streets. During the works, the tangential traffic lanes (from both directions) of the central island will be partially closed for a length of 100m. and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.In the province of Larnaca, as part of the construction works of the "Improvement of the Ormidia - Xylofagos Road" Project, from August 28, 2023 until July 17, 2024, work will be carried out on Anexartisias Street. The road will be closed to traffic in both directions, from the junction with Menelaou Ludemi Street to the junction with the old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road. During the works, traffic will be diverted to an existing parallel road (old Larnaca-Dekelia-Ammochosto road). The movement of vehicles and pedestrians on adjacent roads and properties will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. In Kiti, in the province of Larnaca, on Makariou Avenue, in the period from June 17, 2024 to July 15, 2024, the Larnaca Sewerage Council will carry out installation work on a central sewer line. During the works, the section of Makariou Avenue from its junction with Stadiou Street to its junction with Piraeus Street will be closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted through adjacent streets. On normal roads in the province of Larnaca, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as the collection and removal of useless objects, in the period from 4/3/2024 to 28/6/2024, excluding Sundays and holidays, from 08 :00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon. During the work, the shoulder of the road will be partially closed and traffic will remain in the normal traffic lanes without the shoulder. In the greater area of Limassol and Paphos, from Monday 12/2/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, a private company will carry out works to replace outdated signalling equipment at 47 light-controlled intersections and 31 Pelican-type pedestrian crossings, with a new low-consumption type (Extra Low Voltage-ELV) with LED lamps, Pedestrian Countdown and touch-type demand system for pedestrians. The equipment replacement work at each point will be completed within one day, unless unforeseen and during the work the light-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings will remain out of service unless it is deemed necessary to install temporary traffic lights. The above contributions will be preceded by civil engineering works for the infrastructures. During the week of 17/06/2024 – 23/06/2024, work will be carried out at junctions / pedestrian crossings: · 28th October Avenue (GSO Stadium)-17/06/2024 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) · Chr. Sozou / Chr. Ave. Hatzipavlou-18/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) · Athinon Avenue (in front of Pafiako Stadium)-19/06/2024 (Pedestrian Crossing-Paphos) · N. Nikolaidis (Paphos District Court)-19/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Paphos) · Chr. Ave. Hatzipavlou (next to Zenas Kanther Street)-20/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) · Apostolou Louka Avenue (Kolossi Primary School)-21/06/24 (Pedestrian Crossing-Limassol) In the district of Limassol, on the road Limassol - Agro in the village of Gerasa, in the period 21/5/2024 - 31/7/2024, between the hours 07:00 - 15:30, work will be carried out to raise retaining walls and clean slopes. During the works, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 120m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights. In Paphos, from Monday 8/4/2024 until Tuesday 8/10/2024, roundabout construction works will be carried out at the intersection of Loforou Empas with Christou Kkelis and Dimitraki Adamou streets. During the works, traffic on Empas Avenue will be controlled by traffic lights. In the district of Pafos, on the road Episkopi-Mandria, in the village of Souni, during the period 10/06/2024 – 26/07/2024, construction works of retaining walls will be carried out by a private Contracting Company, on a section of the road. During the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 100m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, with alternating traffic management with temporary Traffic Lights. On the old Paphos-Limassol road, in the period 13/5/2024 – 12/5/2025 (for 12 months), construction work will be carried out to stabilize a part of the road, despite Petra tou Romiou (near the KOT refreshment center in Petra tou Rumi). During the works the part of the road being reconstructed will not be available to traffic. On either side of the boundaries of the construction site there will be continuous and uninterrupted traffic movement. Traffic on the old Paphos - Limassol road (B6) heading from Paphos to Limassol will be diverted from the Petra tou Romiou exit (after Aphrodite Hills on the left) and from Limassol / Pissouri to Paphos from the Pissouri exit on the Paphos highway – Limassol (A6). Also, on the old Pafos-Limassol road, in the section past Petra tou Romiou, in the period between 17/06/2024 and 16/06/2025, road stabilization works will be carried out. In particular, the works will be carried out to stabilize the slope and the floor of the roadway, as part of the 2nd Phase of the works carried out on the road, after the large landslides that had occurred since 2019. During the period of the works, 17/06/ 2024 – 16/06/2025, part of the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite Petra tou Romiou, will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions to Paphos and to Limassol. the temporary signaling will be the same as it was done in the 1st Phase of Works. In particular, the necessary signaling and information information will be placed on the parallel section of the Limassol-Paphos highway, as well as on the two cut-off sections on the old Limassol-Paphos road, despite the western exit of Pissouri-Petra tou Romio and despite the Kouklion exit, for information of drivers intending to head towards Petra tou Romiou. In the Vassilikos area, from Thursday, February 22, 2024, fencing works are being carried out at the Vassilikos Energy Center, which will last until February, 2025.
