An Israeli tourist was arrested by police. He was drunk and damaged the tourist accommodation he is staying at.
Completely unprovoked, according to the police, and being intoxicated, the Israeli, returning to the hotel where he is staying in recent days, began shouting and causing damage to property in the accommodation.
The police were called, arrested him and he will be asked to pay for the damages caused.

The Pafos Permanent Assize Court yesterday imposed concurrent prison sentences for a series of offenses on a 27-year-old man, with a longer prison sentence of five years, for committing arson.
The 27-year-old was facing charges in connection with ten separate cases, which had been investigated by the Paphos ICF, the Paphos Central Police Station and the Pegeia and Polis Chrysochous Police Stations. These are cases of committing offences of arson of a car, burglary, theft, theft, illegal possession of property, and illegal possession and transport of a firearm and explosives, offences committed in the district of Pafos, in 2023 and specifically in the period between April and August, 2023.
The 27-year-old was located and arrested by members of the Police, on August 13, 2023 and taken into custody for the purpose of police examinations. Upon completion of the police examinations in August, 2023, the Police proceeded to the immediate registration of the cases, for their immediate trial, while on instructions from the Court, the 27-year-old remained in custody as an undertrial, for the purposes of the judicial process.
The five-year prison sentence imposed on the 27-year-old today is effective from August 22, 2023, when he remained in custody as an undertrial.

The Permanent Assize Court of Famagusta imposed an eleven-year prison sentence on a 20-year-old man, whom it found guilty after a rape trial. The case had been investigated by the Famagusta ICF.
According to the complaint submitted to the Police, the rape was committed on July 11, 2023, in Ayia Napa. Evidence against the 20-year-old emerged during the investigation of the case by the ICF. He was arrested by members of the police on July 12, and detained for police questioning.
Upon completion of the police examinations in July, 2023, the Police proceeded to the immediate registration of the case, for immediate trial, while on instructions from the Court, the 20-year-old remained in custody as an undertrial, for the purposes of the judicial process.
After the Permanent Assize Court examined the evidence collected by the Police and presented before it by the Prosecution, by its decision on June 10, 2024, it found the 20-year-old defendant guilty. On June 20, the Permanent Assize Court handed down an 11-year prison sentence to the 20-year-old. A total of five prosecution witnesses testified for the prosecution, all of whom were considered reliable witnesses. The complainant, as well as her female friend – both nationals of another European country – travelled to Cyprus and testified under oath at the court hearing.

At Larnaka airport, shortly before his departure for a foreign country, a 19-year-old man was arrested today by members of the Police. He is a suspect in connection with an investigated case of burglary of a sea vessel and theft. The burglary and theft were allegedly committed between April and May, in Limassol.
According to a complaint filed on May 23 with the Limassol ICF, the owner of a boat that was docked at Limassol Marina between April 23 and May 23, a drone, a camera, and a laptop computer were stolen from the vessel after a burglary.
As part of the investigation of the case, a judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 19-year-old, who shortly after 5.30 am on Friday, went to Larnaka airport to depart from Cyprus. There he was arrested by members of the Police, pursuant to the court warrant issued against him. Following his arrest, the 19-year-old suspect was brought before the Limassol District Court, which, at the request of the Police, issued a four-day detention order for the purpose of investigating the case.
The case is being investigated by the ICF of Limassol.

In the context of investigating a case of car arson, as well as collecting and evaluating evidence, the Police arrested a 24-year-old resident of Limassol to facilitate investigations.
Specifically, on March 9, 2024, the Police had received a message about a fire in the car of a 26-year-old, in an area of Limassol. The Fire Department extinguished the fire which however completely destroyed the vehicle. During the examinations, it was found that the fire was set maliciously, while as part of the investigation, testimony emerged against the arrested person who was wanted on the basis of a judicial arrest warrant.
The ICF Limassol continues the examinations.

The 48-year-old from Bulgaria, suspected of being the perpetrator of the heinous crime of femicide of his 41-year-old wife in Tremithousa, who had been transferred on June 17 for compulsory hospitalization at the Athalassa Mental Health Hospital, was discharged yesterday and immediately rearrested with a court warrant.
Today he was brought before the Pafos District Court, which issued a six-day detention order against him for the completion of police examinations.
In the meantime, while the two children of the tragic 41-year-old, aged 2 and 12, are now under the care and custody of the Welfare Office, investigations continue in the friendly and family environment of the 41-year-old and the 48-year-old and more than 40 statements are expected to be taken from their family and friends. At the same time, CCTV in the area are still being examined, scientific examinations are being carried out and the telecommunications data of both the victim and the suspect are being analyzed.
The tragedy occurred on the morning of June 14, after a domestic quarrel between a Bulgarian couple in Tremithousa, Paphos. The woman was found dead with knife blows estimated by the husband so far, while he was also found injured with a sharp instrument.

Police are investigating an alleged rape in Paphos on Saturday, after a 19-year-old girl filed a complaint with authorities.
According to police, the girl said that she was on holiday in Cyprus, when around 2am on Saturday she was raped by a 26-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus, she had met a few days before.
The girl will be examined by state pathologists within the day, while police are still looking for the suspect.
