Two members of the Pafos police department were suspended regarding the murder of Tremithousa.

Police spokesman Christos Andreou said that following the officer's preliminary report appointed yesterday to investigate whether police responded to phone calls in relation to the premeditated murder case under investigation committed in Paphos, it appears that further investigation is needed.

Therefore, an investigating officer was appointed, who will conduct a disciplinary investigation into seven members of the Police.

At the same time, the investigating officer is called upon to determine whether appropriate actions were taken for the timely search and arrest of the suspect for the execution of the issued arrest warrant, following a relevant complaint by the victim concerning offences of violence in the family.

As part of the disciplinary investigation and for its smooth conduct, two members of the Police were suspended.

Two whiskeys with a total value of €5000 were stolen by two persons from La Bodega Premium Cava on Friday.


The perpetrators, Russian nationals, residents of Limassol, took advantage of the fact that the employee's attention was focused on another customer and grabbed the whiskeys of which they obviously knew the value and fled.

The case has already been reported to the Police whose members are trying to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

A vehicle belonging to a 30-year-old Greek Cypriot resident of Emba was destroyed by fire last night. The fire is attributed by the police to malicious action.

The young woman's vehicle was parked outside the residence where she lives. The area has been cordoned off by police for re-examination today to identify evidence and other evidence leading to the identification of the perpetrators.

In the context of an investigation into a case of theft of EAC cables, the Police proceeded yesterday on the basis of a court warrant to arrest one person.

This is a 33-year-old man who was detained to facilitate interrogations.

The case under investigation concerns the cutting of five EAC piles (territory of Agios Mamas village in Limassol) and the theft of 900 metres of overhead cable.

The Police Station of Laneia continues the examinations.

Extrajudicial fine of €2,000 was issued against a 40-year-old man in a village in Paphos for possession of killed game, specifically a hare, during a period when hunting is not allowed.

According to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, as part of the investigation into the fire that broke out in the Kelokedara area at midnight on Thursday, members of the Paphos Crime Detection Department searched the residence of a 40-year-old man who lives in a village in the Paphos district.

Inside the refrigerator of the 40-year-old's residence, Mr. Nikolaou told CNA, a killed hare was found, which is a prey whose possession is prohibited.

A sixty-eight-year-old man was found in Peyia, during a traffic police check, driving with 97mg of alcohol in his system.

According to the Pafos Assistant Police Director of Operations, Michalis Niklaou, yesterday at 22:40 members of the Pafos Traffic Police while conducting a check on Michalaki Avenue Kyprianou in Peyia intercepted a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old man.

A breathalyzer test revealed that he had 97 mg of alcohol in his system while the permissible limit is 22 Mg. The 68-year-old was taken to the Paphos Police and after being charged in writing he was released to be summoned later.
