This year the beaches that meet the criteria and were awarded with the Blue Flag are 76 and 2 marinas.
The Blue Flag is an international institution that promotes environmental consciousness and is awarded to beaches that meet the criteria of the National Judge's evaluation for the cleanliness of bathing waters. It is the most recognizable and widespread ecological symbol of quality in the world, which rewards organized beaches and is awarded with strict criteria.
Through the institution, beaches that achieve high quality environmental goals are awarded. A prerequisite for awarding a beach with the Blue Flag is the excellent quality of bathing water. Another 33 evaluation criteria for beaches and 38 for marinas are also taken into account, certifying, among other things, the safety of bathers, the fullest possible information to visitors, the cleanliness and organization of the coast and coastal area, the protection of natural wealth and the promotion of environmental awareness.
