WARNING SIGNS ON THE ROAD SURFACE FOR TRAFFIC CAMERAS HAS STARTED

 Filenews 24 May 2024

Work began on Tuesday for the establishment of horizontal warning markings on the road surface and the installation of vertical signage with signs at the light-controlled junctions and on the sections of roads where a photo-labelling system has been installed, according to the Department of Public Works.

The Department in a statement calls on the public "to continue to comply with road signs and the Highway Code".

The aim, it is stated, "is to upgrade and strengthen the existing signage to further inform the public".

It is emphasized that this marking has a purely warning character and does not negate the road marking, as defined under the Road Traffic Code, e.g. at light-controlled junctions, the alt/stop line indicating a mandatory stop.
