Central European and Baltic countries are now an important player for Paphos' tourism industry, as evidenced by daily flights to and from Paphos Airport from countries such as Germany, Poland, Austria, Estonia and Lithuania.
For this reason, Pafos' goal is, while maintaining the sceptre in the preference of British tourists, the great opening to the countries of Central and Northern Europe for its further consolidation in these markets in the summer of 2024.
These prospects, according to the competent authorities of the province, are now particularly promising, given that Ryanair's flight program is even more enhanced to Central Europe and the Baltic, which means that the infrastructure for Pafos to build in this targeting already exists. In order to enhance the growing interest from this region of Europe towards Pafos, the Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Agency and PASYXE Pafos are already acting in countries of these regions in 2023 to participate in workshops organized with tourist operators and agents.
As can be seen from the statistics, these markets have recorded satisfactory increases in recent years, with the largest percentage being individual visitors. The whole effort to participate in exhibitions and workshops, the hosting of tour operators, public relations actions and other promotional actions, are part of a wider framework of the joint efforts of the institutions and entrepreneurs of Pafos, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and others for the recovery of tourism and the attraction of visitors on a year-round basis.
