Entertainment until dawn for patrons of clubs, music and dance clubs and cabarets. This emerges from letters sent by the general director of the competent Ministry, Dr. Elikos Elias, to the Union of Municipalities and other competent services and departments of the State.
These leisure centres, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, will be able to operate from 20:00 in the evening until 04:00 in the morning, while on Friday and Saturday they will be open until 05:00 in the morning.
In essence, there is an extension of the predetermined by law hours by 1.5 hours. This new timetable has immediate effect and will last until September 30 and the decision was taken upon the recommendation of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
However, the reaction of the Pancyprian Association of Leisure Centre Owners (PASIKA) to extend opening hours only for a specific category of leisure centres is expected with interest.
PASIKA's position, as already expressed in the past, is that there should be no discrimination that conflicts with the spirit of the legislation.
The Association has already put forward positions on the extension of working hours without exception for all leisure centers.
