An earthquake which, according to the competent authorities, was of the order of three degrees on the Richter scale, was announced early this afternoon in Cyprus with its epicenter in Paphos.

The earthquake, however, was barely felt on a very limited scale in the province, with the majority of citizens informed about seismic activity from media announcements.

Neither damage nor concern has been recorded, according to police and fire sources, since the weak activity was not noticed by citizens.
