The Fire Brigade, following inspections in various areas at the request of local authorities and the Police, asks the public and all competent Services to take seriously into account its suggestions for the removal of piles of timber and useless materials that accumulated in various areas all over Cyprus under the pretext of burning for the "custom" of lambratzia.
The risk due to the strong winds that develop throughout Cyprus is particularly high.
The thermal radiation will be transferred horizontally and not vertically with the prevailing weather conditions, with a serious possibility of affecting premises, infrastructure and human lives.
